Has anyone tried to grow wheatgrass in a flood and drain system? Should I be using a very small medium? I would imagine I could keep the growbed pretty shallow and possibly even use a constant flood bed. Any ideas? Any previous attempts? |

I grew a small patch for a test in my F&D system, and used it in smoothies, then I let it grow to maturity, and it is now almost ready to harvest, with very good grain head size. There are some pics on my system thread of it growing, and I'll post another one very soon of the finished crop. I scattered the grain on a mat of hemp fibre and had an excellent germination rate. I plan to sow a larger area of it next time. |

Thanks guys. I'm new to forums so I hope you get my Thanks. I'll check out the links. I will also post a pic of my mini test flat GB for the hydroponic wheat grass. I save all the fibers after I juice the WG. I pull them apart and made a bed on top of the hydroton. For every batch of WG I grow, I also grow a batch of medium. Stand by for pic. |
