What did you use on the outside of your IBC cages there? (I assume that's what they are?)

Not sure if Mrbinks is still around but I have half buried some IBC's for sumps and protected them with any old bits of sheet steel and corrugated iron I found around the place, usually rubbish collection days or local building sites.

I picked up my corrugated iron from a place that recycles building supplies, offcuts, etc. I dug 3 cubic metres by hand, not long after we had plenty of rain. Never again!

If you are a bit paranoid like me, and assume that at some point something will screw up necessitating the removal from the ground of the sump IBC, you might consider lining the sump pit with something rigid to keep the soil off the IBC.
Below shows the pit I lined with sleepers, and the IBC in the pit.
Cheers, T

Theres no need to go to that extremes just sheets of galvanised iron or weather proof ply up again the cage is enough

Hi F&F, I am making no value or wisdom judgement regarding the choices of anyone else, only sharing my own solution and motivations. My solution may well be complete overkill I guess.

Thanks Brian :wave1:

cheers, T

The things that I thought were going to be the most complicated turned out to be the easiest and vice versa.

Sorry for the necro. This is the one place I have seen this.
It's awesome. I can't find anything like it so I made an account to ask. Did you have to heat the hdpe on order to stretch it over the frame? How does this work?
I have a need for exactly this and I'm stuck scratching my head.
