I have 2 chop systems running. I have never salted the systems. I had a sickness running through it, I have a post on here with pics of what was going on...I decided to thin the stocking and slow feeding down and think it was a main source of the problem as well as maybe stressed fish from the last shipment fish package looked terrible and read that can cause sickness..
I decided to add some salt. I added .6 lb or about 1 cup to a 5- gallons of water let it dissovle and put half in each system. the systems have around a total of 400-500 gallons each including tanks and sump and dwc'c..

Should I add more and how much and all at one time or in intervals????? :dontknow:

Make sure you only add pool salt or sea salt, table salt has anti-caking agents. 1ppt is 1kg per 1000L of water. The only way to know for sure is to use a salinity refractometer.
