Um... you have a FT with water in it. I'm unsure you can run a nitrogen cycle in just that tank. AFAIK the bacteria need a substrate on which to colonise - water will not cut it. From your description you will be taking the FT water and watering seeds/seedlings in a separate system - it doesn't sound like you have them in a GB.

Do you have a GB? Where will your bacteria establish themselves?

Yes, the stipulation on humonia is don't do it if you take medications. Then again, I firmly believe that people should do all thy can to get off medications.
