have been told that yabbies need to be able to climb out of the water, not wanting them to escape if the water has enough oxygen will they be happy enough??
It has been a while since i have been online and have changed the system a little as you do, but now vintage has finished can get back into the routine.
will the yabbies , i have about 15 that are approx 4 inches long be enough for 2 grow beds 1.2m x1.2m & 5 inches deep?

No, yabbies don't need to be able to get out of the water.. They live their whole life quite happily submerged under water.

I read a thread some where that it was stated that yabbies may need to have some shallow water or dry land in order to molt or they can die.

Yabbies don't need to climb out of the water... but they sure will... especially if over-crowded or the water parameters are bad....

Oxygen wise... they're very low oxygen demand... can in fact survive quite happily out of water for several days... as long as they don't get too warm, and/or dry out...

And happily survive buried into the mud of dams...
