We have a pond that is 8 ft. by 16 ft by 3 1/2 deep. want to start aquaponics. Question: I know that there is a lot of fish deby on the botton should i try and remove as much as possible or just keep it for the garden? Question: I'm in texas and lookingfor tables and beds to get started. Any one else in san antonio, texas |

gunk on the bottom can be a problem as it tends to be anerobic... I'd remove it if possible. Clean tanks = healthy fish. |

The gunk on the bottom would be best removed from the pond and spread around the garden. I know there are plenty of Texans on the forum but I don't know if any of them are close to you, Texas is a big place. |

I'm telling ya, the world is a small place. Howdy from SA, TX. I got my big water trough tanks from Tractor Supply up 281N past Bulverde on the right. There is also D&D Farm & Ranch out towards Seguin. Best to call ahead, couple places ran out due to higher demand from the recent drought. |

I'd say to remove most sediment, but don't scrub the pond as there is likely to be some good stuff around that will help cycle the system. On the other hand, if you are fishless cycling then it shouldn't hurt as long as it is not enough to clog the system. Might be some good nutes. |
