Post subject:  Online courses and internships for commercial systems?

Hi Guys form a small and beautifull island in Greece, Paros.
I am happy I found a place that I can share my experience.
I decided to start drafting a business plan and eventually operate a aquaponics commercial farm.

I have no relation with aquaponics and I am newbie. I am am computer engineer by proffesion and I was aboard the "Olympic Games Wagon" for 15 years living in all continents for some time and maybe I ll have to go on for some more in order to raise the money needed as my only source of funding is my savings.
3 years ago i completed a small solar park that can assist me in my plan gradually.

I looked extensively in Europe if i could get anywhere the info and the know how needed but knowledge is limited.
So my questions and any help is welcomed.

1) Do you recomend any online courses for commericla aquaponics,? I saw the davis cole but 2500USD for an onlin course is too much I think.

2) Do you recomend any courses that I should attend where the profesors have experience in running a commercial aquaponics?

3) Do you have in mind any places that I can go, work as volunteer for 1-2 months and get hands on experience?

4) I estimate that I can dedicate approxi 100-300sqm for runnign such a system.

4) Finally sourcing products etc to build my system

thank you all

As far as I am aware there are no online courses worth doing dedicated to AP.

I would recommend the Cornell University online recirculating aquaculture course to learn what you need to know about the fish side of things and try and find a European institution to do a hydroponics course.

For specific AP teaching build and run your own small system and ask lots of questions here.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm still a newbie myself. But I haven't spend any money on courses, books and so on. All you need to know is on the internet for free on places like this. ;)

Of course there are always people willing to take your money, but spend the money on the stuff you need for your first system instead. Read a bunch of "getting started"-threads and ask a few questions on the forum and you'll soon learn what you need to know.

 ... and most of the people providing "training".... get their information from the same internet sources anyway... (although some of them still get it wrong...)
