Found and uploaded to the "download section" this great little conversion program that will let you input any amount of a unit and convert it into the corresponding units required ....

Hi Rup:

Google can do this, although maybe not all of these, for example type in the google search field:

200 watts in horsepower

it spits out:

"200 watts = 0.268204418 horsepower"

Yep... but I can sit this one on my desktop.... and it does everything at the touch of a button .... or three... or four.... :D

And in "options" you can direct the input/output to the clipboard for pasting to Word/Excel etc

On ubuntu there is 'units' which not only can do this, but can do the dimensional analysis too:

You have: 1 m * water
You want: kPa
* 9.80665

1 metre of water is 10kPa.

You have: 5.5 l/100km
You want: acre
* 1.3590742e-11

So my car gets 13.5 picoacres, and that's the way I likes it!”

From http://www.jimwillsher.co.uk/Site/Softw ... _Intro.php
you can get a very similar little application
plus one of the best Bulk Rename apps.
And there’s also a Base Conversion utility, all free.

It doesn't appear to do dimensional analysis. (Units is of course free in both meanings of the word :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimensional_analysis

I particularly like the remark that "[Dimensional analysis] was used for the first time in this way in 1872 by Lord Rayleigh, who was trying to understand why the sky is blue."

Rup: It's just that our standard measure of fuel economy is actually using incorrect units, units which are equivalent to area (and hence could be measured in acres). Technically we should measure average fuel economy in J/m.
