I just worked on something that might help. I grabbed a bucket and drilled small holes all over the bottom. I load it with media and put it on another bucket with water or maybe a larger container so you can catch the water. Then you can shake it and when you lift all the water drops. Do this until the media looks clean. Then you can use the bucket to drop in your GB.

^^ too much hard work.
this is what I did:
put all gravel in the growbed.
get another tub about half the size of your growbed, put your pump in that
Growbed drains to the tub.
Pump water back to your growbed using a flexible drainage hose.
Replace water when necessary.

some will say not to even bother washing the gravel. The water will eventually clear by itself

depends on the media...
i purchased 3 yards of "rinsed river gravel" - i ended up using a couple of kitty litter buckets with holes in the bottom as suggested above.. (i had to haul it down the basement anyways) if i had not rinsed my gravel, i would have had waaaaaay to much buildup..
here's my rinse tank after filling 3 growbeds

If you are wheel barrowing the gravel, fill the wheel barrow with water, shovel the gravel into it, pour out the water, wheel it over to your media bed, shovel onto said bed, repeat as needed.
I used red lava rock, which is way dirtier than pea gravel.
