What's the best product out there (in the US) used to test ammonia, pH, nitrite, etc levels? Dip sticks? liquid drop type? |

I just bought the API kit for $25, it came with all the bottles of test fluid, (nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, ph) and a few tubes. I bought it at my local pet store. I think that its smarter to buy the entire kit than to buy the individual test solutions and its way cheaper. Even if you test every day, it will take a long time to polish off a bottle. API master test kit is the gold standard. Strips can be unreliable. Some people are experimenting with electronic means of measuring, but that is still in it's early stages, as most electronic test equipment is rather expensive. |

Where is ther a list of such equipment? I've got some feelers out to friends in the ag community but have heard nothing back, so far. |

I picked mine up at Petco, or Petsmart. For the life of me I can not tell the difference between them, and could not tell you which one is the one less than a mile from me... |
