Fungus and fin rot... can be treated with salt... Condys Crystals is a kind of last resort "shock & awe" treatment... more for bacterial infections... |

For fungus or fin rot... you need to salt to 4 - 6ppt.... I'd go 6ppt... |

About 3 months ago, i took my system to 10 ppt salt as some of my fish had an ulcer. I only left them at that for 1 hour and then did a 50% water change, but i only lost one fish from 80 which i thought was pretty great. 3 months later all fishies are fine. I did all this under instruction from a pro though, and now i'm pretty happy to use the salt if fish aren't doing the proper fish things. Hope all works out for you. |

The above happened due to poor solids removal, now filters in place and things are going swimmingly. :cheers |

Local fodder shop told me it was now a banned substance, but I've since seen it at a chemist.. At $10 for 10grams, they can keep it though.. |
