How many do you want? Fish will only grow to size of tank and quantity of fish, yes some will get bigger than others, but do you really want that many goldfish? I have 200 gal or 800ltr tank with ten gold fish in to get the system started for the plants, the goldfish will then be going to the 600ltr or 150gal sump tank so I can put 20 barramundi in the fish tank, unless you don’t want to eat your fish, but you could still sell them to mates,

I think barramundi are $20 per kg here that’s dead and filleted, but one still wriggling in the esky or cooler when you arrive at a barbecue would be priceless! You don’t get any fresher!
:D :laughing3:

5800 cu in is about 95 L so you can have 4 fish.

gold fish maybe some more I don't know? it depends on the feed rate and the amount of biofilter.

I've got 4 goldfish in a system with 90L of growbed and 150-170L of fish-tank and they seem to be thriving. I was once told I might be able to have as many as 7 goldfish though for that amount of media.

Thank you all for your quick response. I couldn't get my water quality right until now. Working with Pet Co and you my friends I have finally got good water. I hope this isn't too much, but this time I'll start with 6 goldfish. I'll let you know how we're doing in few days. Thanks, Gil

It's a small point and slightly off topic but I would disagree with this.
In my opinion, as long as water quality and lack of feed aren't limiting factors, fish can/will out grow a tank.
Plenty of people who have bought oscars would agree I'm sure. I've certainly had goldfish outgrow aquariums.

I would agree with that Bodgy, on the grounds it happened to me and they had to get evicted to the pond. :)

4 to 5 will be enough. It is good for the goldfish to swim in a big area.
