i have reviewed the research paper that i bought and uploaded to the download section as it covers tandanus breeding also...............drum roll....................................... they should breed! will build nests in a gravel substrate when the water temp reaches 24C, addition of water (raising of water level) when temp reaches 24C hastens breeding but is not required. Mum fish can lay upto 20,000 eggs Breeding maturity is reached at 5 years at a rough size of 45cms. Will accept pretty much any food and can be caught on "camp scraps" Steve likes. Check out the mug shot! http://www.amonline.net.au/FISHES/fishf ... ndanus.htm |

Mon, I saw some of these at Seaview Aquarium about 10 days ago. They were in with the goldfish, I very nearly bought some, but ran out of time to get back to the shop. Can't remember what the price was though. Nova |

Mon, yet, thats from ausyfish, the only reason that they will supply me 20 i think is because they have had such a small batch this year. I'd be as quick as you can considering that there is not a HUGE amount around, and livefish buy theirs from ausyfish. Let me know when you're ready and i'll pm you alans email details for order. PS i have arranged a futher 10% livefish.com.au prices for forum members for the month of january. Am finalising details now, I'll post a new thread with live fish's details and proceedure soon. Will they live happily with other fish? I probably don't want all catfish, still want some silver's as well. Nova |

well, they are carivores, and they can grow to 45cms in 5 years, but if you put the young'uns in with some decent sized silvers i THINK you'll be fine. I'm going to whack 10 or so into my indoor jade tank |
