If you were in the US, I would say you are getting to take a ride. I don't know you money system, but I would not pay for them at all were I live, people are always juist giving them away.

I've never seen them that big in a pet shop, but they do sell ones about 15cm for $10 each, so doesn't sound too bad to me.

City price, sounds about right. They throw them in with fish ordered out this way. Dam raised they get a lot bigger than tanks. Mine are 30 to 35cm ish.

Sounds like a fair retail price. Not sure of AUS to US exchange rate. Just a few days ago I saw a 6 inch koi at a major US retailer for $8.89 US. Koi are large goldfish. I read somewhere that the record price for one koi approached $300,000!

Goldfish. 30 cm is a pretty big goldfish.
If it's just a pretty carp then $30 would be if the buyer just really likes them (at this point we are talking a pet I think.) Remember that people can get small goldfish and grow them out.

Now if you are talking a Koi with careful breeding and tracking of that breeding and probably paperwork to go with it. Then $30 would probably the be cull stock for people to throw into garden ponds where they might get eaten by wildlife if the owner is unlucky since the really big well bread Koi can run much higher prices.
