Hi All

Does anyone know where to buy new IBC's in Perth and how much they cost?

I've found a supplier in the SW for second-hand IBC's but would like to source new (clean) ones if possible...

Thanks in advance

Gibbo

Not sure where you'd get them in Perth Gibbo... but new ... you're looking at $400-500...

At that price.. I seriously think you'd be better off buying a brand spanking BYAP tank from Joel...

Think I paid $390 for a 1000ltr water tank. Very strong as it was designed to water stock. And the plastic will not become brittle like IBC's. If your going to pay for a new IBC you should check all your options.

Thanks for the info everyone, I'll chase up Schuetz.

I guess I liked the thought of an IBC as oppposed to a stock tank etc. because they are enclosed and thus likely to have minimal water loss through evaporation. Also, I could place it outside in the rain and not have any issues with diluting the fish water and / or the FT overflowing...

What are others thoughts on this, are they ligitimate concerns?

Was offered a free one that had been outside for a while. Pushed on the side and my hand went through it. So they do break down after a while. Might last longer if you paint the outside. Then theres the paint peeling off.

Generally, we shade/cover our tanks regardless Gibbo... more to stop algael growth than anything else... but it does prevent (or lessen) rainfall events as well...
