http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1000-Litre-Water ... 240%3A1318 Would anyone be game to use these? A lot of IBCs advertised say "not for drinking water". I often wonder if it's due to previous contents, or the fact that they're clear. |

Ryan, we use them all the time. We rinse with water, then soak them for a few days with homebrew line cleaner (caustic soda) then rinse again. We don't use them for drinking water, but there are four here in use for AP. They are all covered in some way to protect against the sun. |

If your worried about the previous use, they sell for $300 new. If they are left in the sun you can poke holes in them with your finger after a while. Painted or covered is good. |

I'd not use them unless I knew what they had previously had in them. They are used for some pretty nasty things sometimes by some people (eg pesticides or herbicides). In that add I see they say what was in it. Provided they are telling the truth, I guess it would be okay after a good clean. |

You MUST know what was in them previously. |
