I am selling a system that has been operating for almost two years. This system has been balanced for one and a half years.

1200L fish tank, 3 grow beds and 2 2.4m by 1.2m vertical gardens, Approx 20 Silver Perch ranging from 120 to 240mm in length.

Twenty silver perch are the engine room of this system and range between 120mm and 240mm in length. The system is designed to require very little maintenance. The pump runs continuously without clogging. I clean it every three months. The water level is maintained by a float and the pH and nutrient levels remain stable with no inputs required due to the balance that exists between the grow beds and the fish.

You get the lot. The plumbing, the pump, the fish tank, fish, grow beds, automatic fish feeder, float, supports etc..

Aquaponics System Maintenance
All that is required is feeding the fish (every third day in winter) and daily in summer, planting some seedlings as you desire and eating the produce! The system has an automatic feeder but I tend to also ifeed the fish worms from our worm farm every now and again.

The largest of the silver perch should be ready to hit your plate in a year or so and their staggered growth will mean that you will have a steady supply of fish, fruit and vegetables for your home.

I have grown tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, many herbs, garlic chives, spring onions, lettuce, strawberries, thornless raspberries, grapes as well as ornamental plants just to name a few.

Spraying your plants with seaweed and molasses once every week or two keeps the bugs at bay and makes your plants super healthy! Iron Chelate is added if the leaves begin to get yellow veins.

With just a little bit of effort these systems will give you a steady supply of organic fruit, vegetables and fish throughout the year.
