Looking for 2 IBC and barrels in Southeast Texas. Also is there a place to buy expanded clay media in the same area? Thanks in advance |

Where in South East texas? The best place to buy media in TEXAS is in Streetman Tx, south of Corsicana on 45. Trinity Expanded Shale & Clay. Its an actual quarry. I just contacted them (for a third time, second purchase) last week. The 3/4" size shale (called "d pile") is currently about $125/cu yrd. |

I'm in Orange near Beaumont. Not how far that is from me but from what I've gathered while trying to find equipment is that I'm going to have to mage a trip to Houston to get most of it. I guess I could just stop there and have them fill me up on that as well. If that is near Houston. |

Wow! Far southeast!! Need to go to DFW anytime soon? It looks like Orange is about 4hrs from Streetman. It could save you some money though. Everywhere in Austin and Dallas that I could find 3/4" shale was at an extreme retail price- $800 per yard. At the plant in Streetman, it's $125 currently. I guess it just depends on how much you need. If you plan on getting a load of shale, make sure your vehicle can comfortably haul it. I have a 3/4 ton diesel and could definitely feel the 4,000lbs of shale in the bed! I basically had a Honda Civic in the bed.. Not fun through downtown Dallas during rush hour.. too many a**hole drivers. |

Wow your up there then I wad thinking you were maybe north of Houston I didn't think you were all the way up there. We'll I've found a source for free buckets I'm working on finding 2 IBC's then all I need is a cheap source for lumber. Which is really my biggest pain because I have to have my whole been house drawn up so I know what I need. |

There should be a Habitat for Humanity Restore in you area. They take in all sorts of building supplies and resell them very cheap. |

Check out Living Earth. I contacted them this week for expanded shale 5/8" is $79 a yd. This was in Dallas but they have other locations state wide. |

which location in dallas? I only see the "pea sized" expanded shale in plano and rockwall I have gone to streetman a couple of times... they have gone up in price, imho no longer worth the drive. i usually check craigslist for ibcs. someone has a hookup with a food manufacturer to dispose of the food grade ibcs and that's usually the best place to get them from. |
