I'm with you Savarin. I'm an extreme newbie in Townsville and would like to start with a singl for my tank. Any ideas on where to get one would be appreciated. If I wish to add more grow trays , I was thinking of using some of those kids plastic clamshell sand pits. Bunnings have them for $12.89 each half. They are about 210 x 950 x 1100 so 6 or so would hold the best part of 1000l of medium. I had some for my grandkids out in the sun for a few years and they held up OK. Seem like a cheap alternative for grow trays to me, despite the fact that they are round (oval) and therefore not the best for maximizing space.

I bought one from a guy at Yabulu on Friday. He had one left at $120. Search Gumtree for "Aquaponics" and you should see it. Very doubtful about what had been in it though. He told me chlorine but it sure didn't smell like that and it burnt like hell. Going to have to give it a thorough clean out.
