Hi All,
After running this system for several years, changes to work now has me away for extended periods - so I need to turn it off.
And yes - this is the system that numerous people wanted to buy when I was advertising fish 3-6 months ago. It now IS for sale :-)
All quality stuff here so it is not IBC "backyard system" price - but much cheaper than replacement.
* 1 Fibreglass fishtank with viewing window. approx 1.5 x 1.5 x .7 is around 1350L usable water (at 600mm)
* Fibreglass coated wooden support.
* 50mm pressure pipe and tap from FT.
* 4 x plastic growbeds 1.8 x 1m
* 4 x quality gal steel growbed frames.
* Nearly enough media for the 4 beds - might be just a little shy but close (and some will have leaves in it - needs a wash). As seen in pics plus some extra.
* Water pump - dont remeber details as still submerged.
* 2 x IBC sump tanks. One has half the top cut out for working water return,
* 2nd is fully painted has a water-trough cistern that hose is plugged into, to for automatic top up. Used as the top-up and gas-off tank and extra volume.
* Most of the pipework as needed. Specific orientation of purchaser will dictate changes.
Note:
1. Shade supports as seen in the operating system not included.
2. Buyer has option of the operating growbeds with fantasic fault free syphons (only 3 set up this way) or same beds with just a hole to do things your own way.
3. I used to run an air pump but found it un-necessary with the water circulating.
This was my intro to AP and is a great starting system if you have the ability to put the piping together.
I have set it as a constant height fish tank, drawing from the bottom (so all solids are removed), gravity running into GB's and then syphon dumping into the sump with fluctuating level.
Total water in circulation is around 3500L - so it has a lot of reserve tolerance.
After about 4 months from new, it settled down and hardly needed touching. Ph was constant only needing minor tweaks occasionally, and N levels were alway minor as I didn't overstock it. Although at one stage there were 100 Barra plus 20 big Koi over 2 tanks still running the 3 GBs only with no problem.
Located in Singleton. I can help you dismantle and load up to 5th Jan only. Ideally it will be removed before then. Or can be paid for and I will prepare for you to remove at any time.
Or from late Jan.
You will require ute/trailer or small truck to fit it all on. Can lend a big trailer to assist. Also a bit (lot) of shovelling of media.
Impulse decision to sell as never wanted to, so quick sale before I decide to keep it.
Yes it is more expensive than a backyarder IBC, but you will be much happier with the result and look. Big fishtank with viewing window is awesome - large fish that you can see. They come to the window waiting for dinner time :-)
For comparison;
Frames were $600 ea = $2400
GB are $250 ea = $1000
FT is $1500
stand $500 =
Media - $350 per GB = $1400
= $6900
My loss your gain.
Pipes and syphons - more $$$
PS some big yabbies in another tank too...
Cheers,
Jeff
See gumtree for all the pics - too hard to upload all here
