Hmmm, 170 is getting up to the more expensive end... Not to bad if it was just a single use one, and it's still practically new.

Hi guys.

New to the forum as you can probably guess- not in to aquaponics myself (although I do keep fish- a saltwater reef tank to be precise- and I've got a backyard full of fruit trees- so maybe I qualify).

Anyway- has anyone seen any IBC's around in Perth lately or know of places/locations that regularly have them? Bunbury is a bit of a hike to go up just to scout around.

Cheers,

Daniel

Yeh seen a few but mostly on a truck heading in the wrong direction to my place-1 hr south of you, so they must be going passed your place!
Need to set up a road block! hehe
Oh BTW as you found us, if your not careful you may become addicted and convert at least part of your set up! to fresh water or grow seaweed.

Check the quokka, there are a number of people sell them in there under the "commercial equipment" section.

There are a number of Drum Recyclers" in the Yellow pages.
They have blue 200 litre drums at $30 for food grade used drums.
THe IBCs seem to be around the $200 mark

Thanks guys- and sorry for getting back to you so late. Picked up two food grade IBC's from CCR Plascon on the weekend- apparently they're normally $220 for this grade (A grade?) but I already had a price of $180 ea over the phone before showing up- so I was very happy. Have spent the last two days rinsing them with water and bleach and should pick up my first load of salt water tonight (reef tanks are pretty sensitive- so even though these looked very clean- a thorough rinsing and bleaching is a good idea).

Cheers all.

Daniel

You get your salt water from the ocean or from a supplier?

Straight from the source (the ocean). The waters pretty clean down here- and I haven't had any problems with it.

Cheers,

Daniel
