I'm looking to start constructing my system to grow food for the family in Late Nov. early December this year and expect it to take me about 2 months to build (I'm also thinking of precycling it using a chemical spike...ammonia something or other...read an interesting paper on it).; but this puts me into Jan/Feb which is past Ausyfish's expected availability of Catfish fingerlings date :-( I'd prefer tandus t; but failing that would be happy to share an order for Silver Perch or some other Adelaide suitable fish. If anyone has any local contacts for fish I'd appreciate a few tips. The local fish shops only sell the gold plated varieties (well for the price they charge...) :-|

Also hoping to put a few Marron in the system, so if anyone knows any secret suppliers (men in trench coats lurking in alleyways :-) ) any help much appreciated.

E2, not sure where you are at the moment, but there's a fish shop in Newton that has Marron, expensive though. I would try ringing around the fish markets and see if anyone has live ones.

As for the silver perch, there's a chance I will be looking for some later in the season, say after christmas, so keep me posted on your plans.

i think i saw a marron farm somewhere around adelaide when i was trying to find suppliers of sliver perch (didnt find any that had silver perch for a good price though...)
