Youch, people really are trying to take advantage now a days.... Those drums aren't great for ap coz you can't cut them in half without a lot of work.

AJ is using them for his system which I saw at the Ellenbrook APers BBQ/Pizza gathering last weekend.

They look better then the blue drums, give you about the same filtration volume and are food grade. I guess the extra you spend on these ones means you dont have to cover the blue ones so you can get the wife's approval for looks.

He has cut them into top and bottom halves - if that make sense.

If I hadn't recently purchased BYAP grow beds and wanted to save some $ I would be making the trip - any excuse to visit my block up there.

Guess they are ok if you cut them horizontally, but you can't cut them length ways, those redy brown ones do look nice... I think the ones Nash linked to are exactly the same blue as the other barrrels, I have a couple just like them.

We get the Olive drums for $25, less if you get a few. They also come in black with straighter sides.

Are they not BYAP systems, why have they got hydroponic express stickers on them?

They bought about 4 units from us in the early days, we do much bigger n better cut outs nowadays.

I think that one was part of a make over prize, garden gurus thing earlier in the year.

Yet another example of why makeovers are a waste. People with backyards that are that bad have no interest in gardening and should not get their gardens done for free.

That one looks like a decent price for a supposedly near new system. Have informed mother in law.
