I'm hoping to do the pick up with the family, so I might be in the car instead of the ute. What is the minimum amount of water I can carry 100 fingerlings for 4 hours? I've got to call them and find out how they package them (there is some suggestion they are bagged), but I should have done it yesterday. They're not open during the week.

Nearly all fish are bagged Dexter... even those flown/couriered halfway around the country or overseas...

Done properly.. they should be good for at least 12-24 hours...

Just talked to TTF. I am reassured that I shouldn't have any problems in the boot of the car. See you Saturday. :thumbright:

take eskies so they stay cool. Water temp has a big bearing on DO and that is what would harm the fish over a period of time in bags.

That's what I said but the lady said they wouldn't fit in an esky. Perhaps I should have pointed out that I didn't necessarily mean one esky? She said 5 bags. 2 55L eskies might do. At least some might make it home. :)

If it's a warm day a bag of ice in the boot might help to keep things cool enough for the trip home.

Go to your local supermarket... or fruit shop... and ask for 5 polystyrene broccoli boxs... with lids...

It does actually. If I have 3 styrene boxes, I will be good. I'll ice them before I get there.

I just wish it wasn't 35 for the rest of the week.

Is anyone (apart from Dexter) worried about the warm weather? My tank temp is still around 20 and given I wont have another free weekend for a few weeks I'm still going for it on Sat. Is everyone else still in?

Hi KE,

I'm still in. Did you get a price from them, they don't do credit cards from memory so I want to make sure I have enough cash with me.

Himzo.

Even though my water got to 28 today and the forecast is for mid 30's till Sunday, my plan was to forge ahead and buy the trout this weekend. I'm not getting a lot of encouragement on my system thread for my nursery plan and those wiser heads might prevail. I'll call it in the morning. If anyone wants to tell me what they think I can get away with here, go for it.

What do you call a little warm. I have the feeling if you call it a little warm, then I'm dreaming if I think I can win this, this week.
