Warning about black poly pipe, they don't it 'em like they use too. Black poly piping has the same issues are galv. The original stuff had far thicker walls than what they have been make now. Got thinner in the 1970s(?). Indeed the fittings are different now. This mean you need to be careful you don't scour the surface before it's laid. If there is any road traffic over the pipe, that's where it will leak. It may take 10 years, but it will leak. (In this case 18 inchs down) Gnoll110 |

There are various grades of black poly. I have just laid 300 metres of 25mm Agriculture grade Poly Pipe, it's about twice the thickness of standard grade poly. You can not use typical barb end connections with this stuff. Cheers Ron |

Yep - I'm talking about proper water pipe stuff - no sprinkler pipe. Grren line is the ag stuff and blue line is even better. |
