Hey people,

I am about to add 3 troughs to my system, like the one i have at the moment added to the std BYAP system.
the troughs are all going to run inline with each other... end on end on end with separate feeds and drains. The drains
I want to feed to a sump and was thinking of changing out my STD BYAP 1000L FT with a different 1000L tank, smaller dia, but deeper (same colour not that it matters) then a submersible pump with float switch to return to FT via 32mm PVC

FT to GB Feed 40mm to 25mm
GB Drains 50mm
sump return 32mm

I did aquire a submersible pump with built in float switch unfortunately the range of the float is not what i am after and the float switch cord is quite stiff, so trying to tie it up to adjust on off points is kinda tricky... i want a range of 200-250mm water height between on and off...

OR

Raise my 3 new GBs to a point where i can just return them straight to the big FT and leave the other system out of it to run by itself..
thoiught???

Any sump return we normally do in 40mm to guarantee no restriction in flow. Plus you'll probably find that 40mm pipe and fittings are cheaper than 32mm..

Personally I'd look at having two discreet systems, less to possibly go wrong, and if it does go wrong, it's only the one system, you still have the other one.
