So I've heard of using compost as heat, and remember my Dad had a compost pile that was amazingly hot, but i've never managed to get there myself..
.. does anyone have any tips or tricks to use compost as heat, ( IE, what would be the best plant/veggie/sticks matter to put in there ?? ) and the best container ?

And I thought I was going to be revolutionary. I am going to try using grape mark. Just a truck or two near the AP setup. Smells a bit though until it cakes on the outside, but it's cheap.

Greetings from California,

I plan to utilize used soda pop cans to build a solar air heated furnace to affix to end walls. Once constructed, its one less thing to worry about maintaining, feeding, etc. The hot air can be restricted or redirected when not needed. YOu could easily build as many as need be for low cost.

there is much info on youtube if you seach "aluminum can solar heaters".

Here is one of many tutuorials.

Joey....another thought that came to mind regarding retaining heat at night??? whatabout using hot air to heat black metal drums full of water to retain heat energy??? Or what if ya channeled heat through duct under gravel to heat rocks to radiate heat?

so many ideas to explore with this.......only restricted by budget/time...doh!

maybe a pile of crap in the corner would be easiest method lol

i have also heard of people using rabbits stacked in column. but then theres another chore eh?
