I have to give stucco the credit for sending me off on this investigation. "... look under cistern coatings." Well fumbling around I found this product https://www.amesresearch.com/bluemax.htm.

Stuff is not cheap @ $160 for 5gal exclusive of shipping. One would also have to factor in a top coat to the cost, as the waterproofing coat is UV sensitive if used outside. It is listed as suitable for potable water once dried.

No endorsement implied as I have not used the product.

This is a dry mix water proof paint. It id advertized that it seals so well it can make a cinder block float.
A finish sealer coat is probably a good idea.

It is what people who live outside the levees paint their cinder block structures with. It paints like cementy white wash.

the blue max would be cheaper for me as opposed to liner.....

with shipping the liner is more..... the blue max is carried local...

DecalsbyJT, I went out to the ACE website. At least for me, my local ace, its special order. But still free shipping would be worth the wait. Web said 3-7 days for my area.
