I have come across something really weird in my fish tanks and it makes no sense to me whatsoever

Setup,

Tank A 1000L has 50 small silvers,
Tank B 1000L has 11 larger Barras,

Both tanks are connected via a large tube to maintain even heights in both tanks. Each tank has a pump and the pumps take turns at pumping into a common feed line to the grow beds they alterbate each hour.

Now in the Barra tank the water is pristine and clear right to the bottom, in the silvers tank the walls are covered with string algae ""large"" and the water is a bit more greenish, however both tanks are joined together with a good 75mm joiner pipe, how can one tank be green with string algae and the other have nothine, it does not make sense to me at all

Check when the pumps run. Are there check valves on the pumps so that one tank is not simply pumping into the other thank instead of to the grow beds? Are those check valves operating properly? Are both pumps operating properly? Perhaps the pump in the silver tank is having some issue or something or the check valve is caught open and the bara tank is actually being partially pumped into the silver tank rather than to the grow beds? Make sure all is well with circulation and flow before getting too freaked out.

The comment about one tank getting more light or sun could also be the case or perhaps the fish in one tank are gobbling up the algae while the others are not so hungry? Good Luck solving the mystery.

Yeh unusual isnt it, makes sense in a way that maybe the barras are nibbling away any algae in there tank, both pumps have a one way check valve on them and they both fill the grow beds no problems. The centre pipe between the tanks flow the water nicely as well, you can see a small current happening from each tank through the pipe as the respective pump is running.

Will do a bit more research and see what I can find out, will also post som e pics today as well
