If it's a silly idea feel free to say.

I was looking at pumps today and have my eye on a Mondo pump. I was wondering how it might go having it pump water from two tanks simultaneously (sp) and then into two sets of grow beds.

Thoughts...........

What is the mondo pump Corny? I did a bit of a search but could only come up with some medical pumps, I don't think thats the right one....

I don't think it's a silly idea, but one thing you might want to keep in mind is that the pump is generally the weak link in the whole system, if something is going to go wrong, it's generally the pump, being the main moving part with all of the load.

If you only have one pump working the two systems and your pump goes down, you lose twice as much..

Yeps..have thought of that. I'm sure I spelt the pump name right? Was in looking at some yesterday...it's not a submersible pump...talking to the guy in the shop and their tech guy, they both rate it very well.

Was looking longer term at this pump. To begin with I'm going to get two little submersibles (can't remember what they're called, think they're made in Italy).

Has been very frustrating.....fruit trees/and buying new pumps for the house has slowed me right down in setting a system up...but I now have 5 x 160lt tubs to use as grow beds, and as I type this am shifting water from my metal tank into the poly one.....so once that's done I will have my fish tank! I ordered a bigger poly water tank for the house yesterday....so things are finally happening!

Nice work Corny.... What are your 160lt tubs, I'm assuming that they had another life before this one as an aquaponic growbed?

No....brought them in Bunnings...it is impossible to find anything around here that can be used. Farmers won't give anything up without a fight! Even the rubbish tips aren't any good...people just don't throw useful things out here!

The pump I think might have been a Mono (I did a quick google goggle search).

I have an undercover area 5 x 8m (the tractor will have to move) that I will use. Just have to wait for the tank to finish emptying...then find a way to move it!

I need to build a frame of sorts to hold everything.
