Simply put what are the ideal Ratios for the fowling…
Medium /Water (from what I read a 2/1 ratio is common practice),
Water/ fish (should the pumping fluctuations be taken into account)
fish food/fish,
Medium /plants (as many as will fit I guess),
depth of media…
My vague outline is to have a system that can give a family of 3 a few meals of fish a week and plethora of veggies.
If there’s any other ways to mix and match these or anything iv missed feel free to jump in.

Yep 2 - 1 grow bed FT.
Water fish ,, max 30 kilo per 1,000 litres ,, suggest half that for new system. ( if you intrend growing fish to the one kilo mark then that is 30 fish per 1,000 litres)
Fish should be fed between 1% and 5% of body weght depending on size and species.

Media depth 30 cm is suggested as minimum.

...water fish ratio is GB media volume x 40% = ~water volume, then 3kg per 100 ltrs of water volume.
Or as Chappo said 30kg per 1000ltrs.
The 3kg per 100 ltrs is the maximum fish load, so as your fish growing you need to remove some
Say you started with 30 x 100g(3kg) trout and you had 1000ltrs of (40% GB volume) those fish will grow to 1kg each+
before you need to harvest.
Now, If your inention is to grow more fish and cull then you could start with say 100 x 100g fish (10kg).
They will get to maxi fish load quicker and will supply your veggies nutrients to burn :flower:

In the last example:100 x 100g fish (10kg) the average weight of 300g could be atained before culling.100 x 300g =30kg
You will find that some of the Trout are bigger, we call these the bolters, they really hammer the feed
and put more weight on, so we eat them first  yum!
Hope this helps.

+1

Yep ,, it's unlikely you will harvest all the fish at the same time ,, so knocking the big ones on the head while the others grow is a good way to even out the loading,.....,AND more importantly put fresh fish on the table regularly
