Has a number for complaints so might give it a miss unless someone can vouch for it.

to be honest i doubt it would matter, the main reason that people should avoid table salt is the anti caking agents which i doubt that they put in pool salt

in short i would use it if its what i had,

i try to avoid buying anything in tehgeneric brands from major shopping centers as i figure they already get a large share of the pie, no need for them to get the whole pie

Cheers
pete

Ya just want to make sure it doesn't have any anti-caking agents, pelletizing agents, iodine or other unknown additives. Most of the cheapest salt is just dehydrated sea water, dried out using sun and wind. I use the plain solar water softener salt since it is usually cheaper at the grocery store than the pool salt at the grocery or the hardware stores.

This stuff cost $5 AU but I don't know if that is cheap or not as I have never bought it before.
Have put it in last night and nothing dead so far, but I only have 6 small goldfish in the tank at the moment.

How much did you put in. Lot of people run 2ppt or 2kgs per 1000ltrs of water.

With salting for problems you need to hit them hard ie 3 ppt 3 kg for every 1000 litres water just slowley putting it in you may as well pee in the tank for all the good it will do :P
