Setup the first test for the "Spider" today.... A sequential valve that can be operated by a controller... or a timer...

Simulated a timer... by turning the power on/off...

Power/timer on... outlet 1 fills growbed 1...

This is a pressure operated system?
I had thought these valves (standard in farming) wouldn't work with our pumps... Cool.
I've never pulled one apart, I'd sire like to see the mechanism.

This is a "low flow"... "low pressure" valve... running off the standard Ebara pump used by BYAP.... @ 1m head.... (from top of pump)

Still being developed and fine tuned... theoretically the valve should shut off completely...

Dribbles a little bit at the moment... probably because it's just been thrown together... and only has a short piece of outlet pipe on each outlet....

Not that it would probably matter.... i.e if the timer was set to 15mins "on"... 15 mins "off.... the growbed that had been filled ... would now be draining anyway.......

Comes in three standard models.... 4 port outlet, 6 port & 8 port... and two inlet sizes... 25mm & 40mm.....

4 port outlet....

6 port outlet...

The 4 port unit can be used as 2,3 or 4 outlets.... the 6 port unit can be used as 3,4,5 or 6 outlets...

And no Kuda.... sorry... but ya ain't going to see the inside of one.... not yet anyway...

Testing... with the view to offering them as a product.... pricing a way off yet.... in negotiations with the manufacturer...

Questions as to the volume of demand... ultimately... :dontknow:

Also hope to trial them in relation to hydroponic installations... particularly with regard to solar operation, both AP & hydro.... i.e low wattage pump supplying multiple growbeds/tables...

Obviously... reliability over time in real time operation is an important issue...

I like - and is now the time to ask how the solar heater is going?

Rupe, May I suggest finding and marketing a timer that is on for a set time, before switching off for a minute then back on again, thereby giving continuous pumping (almost) and allowing the switch?
If nothing currently exists on the market, I may be persuaded to assist in design and manufacture.

A consideration Kuda... particularly for systems that require continuous pumping... ala auto-siphon systems...

But my primary focus at this time is the BYAP kit model of overflow standpipe/timer...

And particularly an emphasis on solar units....

For other systems.. the manufacturer provides a fully programmable controller...

Ohhhhh Need a tester or distributor in the USA? (Not that I really know what is involved in being a distributor but I might want to learn.)

So... when can I get one rupe?
I'm happy to buy a beta version and assist with testing for free, but my system is ready for one NOW. I've just added 4 beds, and can't get them to siphon properly due to low flow.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?????????
Pretty Please?
I'm begging :angel4:

Haha... that's kinda funny coz i just finished putting in all the growbed siphons in my new system and fixed up the leak from the fishtank. Now it's just a matter of finding a good system of distributing the water and I'm still thinking about that. I'd like to use only one pump but I dont think that's possible but if I use sequential valves like you're making.. except more like 2 or 3 valves rather than 4 or 6!
I have about 6 growbeds ready to hook up but I prefer to sequential half or in thirds rather than every single bed. Just too much headache.
pic to demo what I mean.
