Yabbies like duckweed, not sure if they produce enough waste to grow much. I throw some into my yabbie tank all the time and they love eating it also.

I wanted to put some half barrels underneath my half barrel GB'b and grow some duckweed to supplement food, then thought that if i can put some yabbies in then i wouldn't have to cycle it thru the fish tank. Will this work? I would have to provide some airation though wouldn't i? What do yabbies eat? How many would i be able to put in a 100l half barrel? And roughly how much would each barrel of duckweed supplement the fish food? Is it worth doing or just stick to worms? Cheers Jon |
