So I am expanding my system a good bit that is in my house and need to figure out my water situation a bit more and had a quick question for you guys. Do you think the Brita water filters will filter out the stuff the city puts in? From the brita website it says that it reduces chlorine but I didn't know if it would be enough. I don't get enough rain water here most of the time to do much so my only other choice would be additives as I am worried about other stuff the city might add besides chlorine.

So anyone have any idea's about using water that has been run through a brita water filter?

If all you are dealing with is chlorine, then you could simply put bubblers in buckets of barrels to outgas the chlorine.

If you are dealing with Chloramine, then use the britta filter I guess. I've read that chloramine can kill of bakers yeast to the point that you can make bread with water that has chloramine in it but you can filter the water through something like a britta filter to allow you to bake bread. Unfortunately, you will use up the filter a lot quicker using it to filter water for an ap system so you should probably buy a few extra filters.

I believe there are also water conditioners or agers you can get from aquarium shops but I don't know which of those are food safe.
