I'm working on the design for my 10k gal aquaponics system.

I have acouple questions for you all.

Grow Beds....

so if the pond is 10k gal on a 2 to 1 ration I can have 20k gal of grow beds ?

I was thinking of a 6ft x 1ft x 6ft grow beds 36 cube ft which is also about 270 gallons. to do a 1:1 ratio that would be about 37 grow beds correct ?

Well that alot of grow and I do have the space but want to start small.

So If I'm thinking correctly the number of grow beds determine how many fish you can grow correctly and the number of fish determine the amount of grow beds.

So Right off the bat I cant hook all those grow bed up if I put two up to start how do I determine the amount of fish I can support ?

As a rough guide (and you'll have to convert to empirial) ... work on 3kg/100L of growbed...

If you aim to eat your fish at 500gm... then double for number of fish...

i.e ... you have say 1000L of growbed... you could sustain 30kg of fish...

30 x 1kg fish.... or 60 x 500gm fish....
