Has anyone heard about them? I went online and can't work out how they got the nitrogen cycle to work as they grow their plans directly on the water. I believe it wont worked as efficient. Any comments? Are they credible? |

Their style of system is based on the UVI model which has been operating for many years. |

I believe they have some tanks where nitrification happens and solids can settle out and such things. Over at morning star their primary (besides all surfaces in the system that is) bio-filter is a barrel full of shade cloth or netting. It seems that many large commercial type operations don't have the patients for gravel or flood and drain. It seems to work very well for many crops though. Their plants don't get the benefit of using the solids as much so they might not have as much success growing fruiting crops though I did see a cherry tomato plant fruiting in the system over at morning star. |

From what I have read some time ago they use "green water" in the same way as others would use a fluidised bed filter...problem is if the power goes off the fish die, full stop. |
