I mentioned this once before and since the weather is not too flash I did a simple diagram. Rather than using my original solid braces I thought it may be possible to put about six guy wires from the top and simply wire the draincoil onto them as you wind it round. The pots would be net and there would be no media, probably spray it with white paint because of heat gain. At the moment it looks like it takes up the same footprint as ground beds but that is dependant on the overlap of the spiral, theoretically I suppose you could just wind it round an upright barrel and cut the pots in at an angle. Obviously not for things like tomatoes. Aside from my crap drawing skills I would appreciate any constructive criticism

How high would it be Sleepe... and how wide would the coil be at ground level.... Thinking in terms of harvesting/planting the plants.... Other question is whether the velocity of the water as it coils down might become to great...

If you kept the angle small the speed of the water would not be too bad. And drain tube is corrugated?? |

"non slotted" ... but could be corrugated if it's intended to use "ag-pipe" ...

Rupe Minimum outside coiled diameter on 100mm is about 12-14inches, high as you like, if it wasn't pissing down I would measure drop at 2x min coil. The drawing is not very good its only to give you an idea. Duff Yes corrugated |

Was thinking the same thing but didn't want to use the 'a' word to keep the length of the thread down. |

I should claim royalties Frank Dont think there would be much problem over here with light levels, usually have to shade things. |

Quote: the sun stands lower and lower on the horizon Well sorry Frank... but that suggests a large degree of solar inefficiency...... and IMO proves the sun has no place in a natural system .... |
