Post subject:  its raining should i cover my system?

Its pouring down rain here and was wondering will an influx of fresh rainwater into my growbeds and tank cause any problems. I dont have covers over the growbeds and there is only shade cloth covering the steel grate over my ft. I thought the rain may simply give me a bit of a top up. Will my macrobiological mates feel any debilitating affects?

Last time it rained here, was two weeks ago, and my main tank flooded  up to you how you would like to handle the situation really

I dont cover mine, think of it as free water.

Some days the sun takes the water.... and some days the heavens give it back! :D

Just a thought.... but ummm.... ... not so helpful! :D

Bluefin, it depends on how much water you are getting.

We have the FT and most of the GB under cover, but the rain blows in from the sides. This is because when it does rain during the Wet, it really rains.

I have not seen rain do anything bad to my systems though...we do get 90mm in one day sometimes, raises the big tank by 2 inches.
