Hello all , great to read everyones ideas being put into practice. I am getting ready to start my own system soon and would like to raise around 20 - 30 fish at a time. What size tank should I look at? I have seen some round poly troughs at the local produce that are about 2000 litres for $500 but they are only about 600mm deep. Is this too shallow?. The cheapest aquaculure tank I could find was $900 for 5000 litres and are about 1200mm deep. I live near Toowoomba QLD and would appreciate any info on sourcing materials etc. Especially what type of gravel is suitable locally. Thanks . Andrew |

Andrew - I too have spoken to the Innisfail office. Had the same experience with Brisbane as the aqua tanks are produced from Innisfail. Innisfail said to ring Brisbane back regarding freight. I never got around to it. Did you get a freight price from them. Maybe it would not be massive on the basis that they may be freighted down with other products being sent between the stores. If you ever want to get one and the freight is not prohibitive, let me know and we might be able to reduce the freight by sharing. |
