Nope :D

You want to turn the tank volume over once per hour. ie 4000lph pump @ 15 minutes on 45 off,
or 1000lph @ continuous. Its up to you what you want to do, but an energy efficient vortex pump 65 watts is good value, and silent. I actually run mine as much as I can (just need to limit overnight for temp) keeps the water much cleaner than a small pump.

Personally - go the big pump.

Can you link us to an example oba? I'm going to be looking for a new pump for my big system before the end of the year. I will need something I can run continuously and obviously power consumption will be a big issue for me, as will be throughput. I reckon to allow for expansion, I'll want to be able to pump at least 6,000 litres per hour (genuine) at a couple of metres head.

95 watt (bet you wont find better for the capacity, I tried)

I got mine from Joel :)

Extremely recommended I am very impressed with the performance compared to my cheapy ebay pumps.

Yeh - saw that one on that other thread. Pumps less than 3000 at 2 metres head though. I'm thinking I may end up having to run a small pool pump to get what I want.

I dont think you can find a better pump for AP than the jebao tornado's, value for money, power consumption, all good :) And they are soooooo quiet.

I answered it in my first post??? The bigger pump gives you more room to expand, gives you a lower running time and is generally all good.

If you have a sump, just make sure it can keep up with the other pump.

If you have a pump in the sump , why would you need another pump???
Almost poetry that ,, pump in the sump, in the sump pump.
