Is there a chart somewhere with the various things you need to check and the appropriate levels? I want to post something by the fish as a reminder of appropriate levels and what to do if they are not. I'm sure there is one here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

I know what you mean :) I am looking for the beginning aquaponics cheat sheet or the "when-to-know-if-you-are-killing-your-fish-and-what-to-do-about-it-NOW" sheet.

I am a teacher who laminates EVERYTHING (well, almost) and I want to laminate and hang a chart over the fish tank for my own education and that of my kiddos.

Have you read the 'Healthy fish are happy fish' article in the first edition of the Backyard Aquaponics Magazine'. It is available here for free. The second part of the article will shortly be in the second edition. A bit longer than a page  - but it covers the things you need to look out for.

OK, this is one of those "DuuuH!" moments. I have about 400 pages i printed off in a huge binder that has the above-mentioned magazine. I read it so long ago that I forgot that article was there. I re-read it and now I will make my own little sheet.

I have goldfish right now. They are my 15 cent cyclers. They seem happy--so far. It is cold, but I bought them at an open-air fish house, so they should be used to the weather. I just have to remember not to feed them everyday when the temp gets below 50 F.

Thanks!
