Post subject:  Is pumice a viable option for a bio-reactor?

I've been looking to make a biofilter for a while and i see a lot of people using plastic Bio Ball Filter Media for there systems I was wondering if anyone has tried using pumice instead because it has more pores for the microbes to live in

Is the pumice pH neutral?
