I am thinking about moving my air pumps into the battery shed containing ni-fe batteries that off gas hydrogen

just wondering what possible harm this might cause to the fish if extra hydrogen is being pumped into the water
I am assuming this will most likely lower DO levels

how ever I could always capture / store the hydrogen for running a burner or something

Unless you are not worried if your fish die I would try to run a burner or motor off it, I would need to find out more about it before I fed it into the water.

Unlikely to be an issue, as the very small amount of H2 given off will rise straight up to the ceiling, so unless your air pump is up there, it wont be sucking any in.
