| Post subject: | How to prevent tomato blossom drop in Aquaponics |
Every blossom on the tomato plant is dropping , not sure what is the actual cause. Any tips on this will be appreciated. Thanks |

Could be temperature. Could be nutrient defficiencey, probably potassium. Only thing that can be ruled out going on what you've told us is lack of water, given that its aquaponics. |

High Nitrates is a major cause in Aquaponics. Lack of pollination is also another possible cause. If the flowers aren't sufficiently pollinated they drop. Being in a hothouse where pollinating insects can't access the flowers and wind can't assist pollination, can be a cause, as can cold or hot weather keeping insects away. Cold, extremely hot, and extremely humid weather can also inhibit pollination by affecting pollen production or viability of any pollen. Extreme hot or cold temps can also cause a plant to simply drop flowers. |
