I found someone local selling 2 used "Tower Garden Growing Systems" by Juice Plus (I'd post the link to their website, but I'm not sure if that's allowed). There is no way I could buy them new, but the used price might work. The systems is kind of a aeroponic system, but can this be attached to an aquaponic system? Id like to use it with out the "mineral blend" fertilizer stuff and just rely on the fish waste to fertilize plants. Is there an easy way to make this work with aquaponics? |

I think it could probably be made to work but the unit isn't really intended for Aquaponics. There are more solids in an Aquaponic system than in a regular aeroponic or hydroponic system and there is the potential for the holes in the shower cap portion to block up so you might have to keep your eyes on this sort of thing. I don't see an easy way to feed fish if they are in the bottom of the unit so probably you'd have to keep the fish elsewhere and just add AP water as needed or figure a way to make it flow through. |

Yeah, I'd try to design it so I could get the fish tank water to flow into the towers and drain out form the bottom. That is a good point on the holes on the shower cap getting blocked. I'm going to pass on the tower systems, as they are still quite expensive and may not work out in the end. Also, while researching, I found that the Juice Plus Tower systems have a Proposition 65 warning that states that it "contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm if those products expose consumers to such chemicals above certain threshold levels". That really changed my mind about that product. lol |
