Does anyone know if oyster shells will work well in a flood and drain system?
My interests are in finding free lite weight media for my AQUAPONICS SYSTEM.
I'm also thinking walnut shell might be good.
Any suggestions good people?
Thanks

Oyster shells are mostly Calcium carbonate,it will buffer the systems PH.But I've read that once the waters PH reaches 7.2 it stops :dontknow:.You would want the PH a bit lower than that (depending what plants you're growing).

Walnut shell,I don't know exactly what it is.Is it inert & will it rot?
