Hi All, I need some advise fairly quickly as I am having to move address in the next two days or three tops. My system is a basic IBC container cut and flip. But the system has just started to really kick into gear, the fish are growing and the veggies are going bezerk and now I have to uproot it and move it. Grrrr Now I'm only moving 2 Milometers away so not a big distance. Questions are as follows, Do I need to take the water (Somehow) ? Do I need to pull the grow bed apart and then replant? Or is there a way to cart the growbed less the water intact? I was thinking lifting straps onto the trailer? There are 100KG of clay media (Approx) and the water for the fish is 700 Litres I am getting anxious over the whole thing as I don't want to put the system back and start again, If I lose some plants ok, but fish, would prefer not How do I transfer them? Surely they would be ok in a 100 Litre black tub from Bunnings with lid? Will new water direct from tap do harm? |

borrow/buy a IBC with lid, pump/bucket all your water into this when its on trailer. otherwise borrow some mates for a beer party and between a few of you should be able to carry it to trailer...... PLEASE PLEASE video this for our enjoyment. I carried 20 goldies about 120cm long each in an esky for 700K, granted I had a battery air pump again use your mates for your growbed |

Yeah friends are your best bet. But you should be able to move the fish in a smaller tub with an air pump runnning no problems. |

Hey mate do you have access to an excavator or acces to get to the system with an excavator. I lifted an entire ibc setup water fish and gb intact onto a trailer for an exhibition and then onto my new house. The fish were removed from the system after the exhibition and then the gb caved in to the fish tank. But i was able to get the whole setup from my old house to the exhibition by strapping lifting straps around the base of the IBC connecting to the boom of a 5t excavator and lifting onto a trailer. Was well above safe lifting weight but you could always pump out half the water. |

Thanks for replies all. I have purchased a IBC and have placed that at new property, will clean it out, (has had dirt in it for a few years) then add say 1/2 water from my current system, put fih in, continue to cart water to it till its full. Then get the grow bed shifted and in place using body straps (removalist types) and then connect all up again. Then I have the spare IBC to use as a sump and extra grow bed. Will try to take pics, vids as we go if possible. To get the ibc out through the gate I only have 20 cm to play with, so no room for machinery or any type of lifting equipment unfortunatelly Thebut other end is no drama, plenty of room. Wish mev luck. Surely I can put 2 fish at a time in say a 100 litre barell without pumping oxygen, air? 5 minute trip absolute max |

in place using body straps (removalist types) hope you dont, Bunnings have their std straps about 20mm wide, BLAH dont use them, they also have a much wider one that is significantly stronger |
