For a basement system, I am having trouble finding a compact model. I use a single pump so the issue becomes whether I can rely on gravity when water returns to sump or if I need a dedicated biofilter system. Anyone have pictures? Thanks |

If that is of sufficient capacity you don't need a dedicated biofilter. A gravity feed to the sump is pretty standard for most types of systems. Anyone have pictures? That's right, the only issue with simple fish tank + grow bed systems is the fluctuating water level in the fish tank, if you are using flood and drain of course. But this isn't a problem when the grow bed is smaller than the fish tank, and filled with media , as the grow bed volume isn't too significant compared to fish tank volume. |
