Hi all, looking for some advice, over the past few days I've noticed a slow decline in some of my plants. I started to notice it on my cucumbers first with some leaves losing colour, I've come back today after work and noticed more decline. All the cucumbers that were starting to grow have gone brown and shrivelled, the larger ones have stopped growing and I've noticed some small holes appearing in the leaves. Everything was going really well but I have noticed an increase in algae in the tank and its been hot for the last week so I'm wondering if its temperature rather than anything else. Grateful of any advice on how to get the algae down and sort the plants out asap. Photos attached, thanks for reading. I see what looks like a potassium deficiency (the leaves with the yellowing edges) - tough to tell which are old and which are new leaves in these close ups though. Sounds like the algae may be taking up a lot of the nutrients - can you shade the tank and try for a gradual algae die off? |

Hi, thanks very much for the reply. Yes I can shade the tank, its a third shaded at the moment but I can almost cover it up. How much light do the fish generally need? |

In the interest of doing it with items I already have and then fixing the issue permanently I've come up with the ultimate shade solution. At least this works for me on the beach... Attachment: IMG_1289.jpg [ 117.04 KiB | Viewed 3517 times ] |
